Took dd to see santa today, she was fine queuing but when she met the big fella, cue meltdown of massive proportions Blush, hands on ears and everything, she was fine last year though a little nervous. Then she wanted to go on the merry go round which she usually loves and was fine on in the summer, cue hysterics and cries of 'i want my mummy'. All around I see happy smily kids seeing Santa, but my dd is having a mahoosive meltdown. Will not be doing that next year Sad and stay at home instead with dh dressing up as FC.

both of my nt kids have been exactly the same wrt santa and rides. Grin
it's about being 4, not about being sn.

but we're so used to seeing everything through an sn lens, sometimes we don't recognise an nt foible. Grin

this too shall pass. etc etc. you were just too stressed to notice the other children melting down. Smile

I know, I tend to blame everything on her AS traits, and developmental delay. I now a couple of nt children who do not like anyone in dress up costume such as FC either. I was so Blush

I agree zzzz next year we might take her to a farm instead, as she loves animals, or Gullivarsland as she always asks to go, she really likes it there, same with the parties, she is not keen because of the noise, and commotion, so instead might just do something nice as a family.
