Hello, posting in here and 'health' just in case there's some cross over. Our daughter has epilepsy and has had a very bad response to both Epilem (Sodium Valproate) then Keppra (Leviteracitum) then Epilem and Lamotrigine. Her behaviour has just become totally uncontrollable with madly aggressive outbursts of hitting, biting, hair pulling, insomnia and behaving like she was generally drunk etc. This is totally out of the ordinary for our child.

The consultant has decided to slowly reduce the Epilem and up the Lamotrigine, ending up on Christmas day with just Lamotrigine (Ho ho ho).

Does anyone has any views/experiences of any of these drugs and or circumstances especially Lamotrigine? Any views would be really appreciated, especially information relating to behaviour.

Thanks a lot

Hi, I have two threads about lamotrigine running atm, one in health and on here! I had mixed responses, two people said they had felt weepy but better than some other epilepsy drugs and one found it made them feel very very sick.

Obviously can't help as in similar ish boat (just about to start it as first treatment)but very worried about behaviour and insomnia as the connsultant said it can cause them to be more alert-my dd is quite aggressive and very alert so I am worried about this.
