I did a search but think I did it wrong Blush - I need to put together a social story for DS as we're moving, can anyone point me in the right direction for software/programme/how to do it? Sorry, I know this has come up before!

I had a bash so will c + p here? Let me know what you think. He has a lot of language, and I've put in pics of actual house, school, etc TIA Thanks

On 10 January, Mummy, Daddy and me will move to another house. It is called [address]. The moving men will come and help us pack all our things into boxes. The moving men will take the boxes to [address]. Daddy and me will drive there in another van. Mummy may come with us, or she may drive in [her car].

When we get to [address] the moving men will put all the boxes into the house. Mummy and Daddy will unpack the boxes and put everything away. It might take a long time because we have a lot of things.

Mummy and Daddy will unpack the boxes and put everything away. It might take a long time because we have a lot of things.

I There are 4 bedrooms in [address]. Mummy and Daddy have chosen their room. I will be able to choose my bedroom. I will help Mummy and Daddy to put my things into my bedroom. I can chose where things go.

The next day I will start going to [new school]. [Names] will be my teachers. [names] will be in charge of showing me where things are. If I get worried or don?t know what to do at [school], I can ask [names] to help me.

I will still be able to play with my old friends from [old school]. I can ask my Mummy to arrange this. My friends can come to [address], or I can meet them at the park or soft play.

Soon, I will be able to choose what colour to paint my walls and how to decorate my room. Mummy and Daddy will buy me a new bed too.

It is exciting to move house and school but it can be a bit sad too. If I am sad or scared I can talk to Mummy or Daddy or my teachers.

(maybe something about him being able to pack his favourite items in a special box that he can carry with him)

When we get to [address] the moving men will put all the boxes into the house. Mummy and Daddy will unpack the boxes and put everything away. It might take a long time because we have a lot of things.

(what would like him to be doing while your unpacking?)

Mummy and Daddy will unpack the boxes and put everything away. It might take a long time because we have a lot of things.

(how long is a long time? days? weeks? try and be a little clearer)

I There are 4 bedrooms in [address]. Mummy and Daddy have chosen their room. I will be able to choose my bedroom. I will TRY to help Mummy and Daddy to put my things into my bedroom. I can chose where my stuff goes.

(maybe put some things, he might not be able to choose where bed ect goes)

The next day I will start going to [new school]. [Names] will be my teachers. [names] will be in charge of showing me where things are. If I get worried or don?t know what to do at [school], I can ask [names] to help me. (maybe dont use "in charge", its a complex thing to get head round)

(maybe be a little more clear about times, soon is hard to understand, and what does decorate mean to him?)

Rules I always stick to in a social story is never put a concreate thing in unless you know its certain, so dont use words like will, always, do ect but prefer words like try, may, like to, hopefully.
