This company which is advertising on here looks pretty good.

Do you have an OT or a physio?
They could give you lots of useful ideas if you ask.

If you go to the link that Moondog put up, they will send you a catalogue. They have loads of stuff in there, some of which might be good for your DD. I have got my DS his main Christmas pressies from there.

remember you can borrow stuff from your local toy library (usually free for parents of sn kids) and they often have a vast sn section so that you can try lots of stuff for free and see what works out - much better than making expensive mistakes.
have you been referred to portage? they are often great at ideas too. (and they usually choose toys from the toy library to bring out and try too Grin)

beca74 · 06/12/2011 22:22

no we dont get portage,

see if you can find out if it's available in your area, and get a referral. some places accept self-referral too.
dd is just the right age to be really benefitting from it, and some places won't allow portage and nursery, so the earlier the better, really.
it can make a huge difference. not just to the child, but also so that the parents get some more ideas and try new things too.

I am a Portage Home Visitor, and madwoman is right, you can refer yourself to Portage if it is available in your area. It sounds as if both you and your dd would benefit from it. Try ringing your local Children's Centre - they will know.
Good luck.
