she's 14 months she's got hypotonia, hyper mobility syndrome, plagacephly prob spelt that wrong, and fatigue syndrome can just sit up we have been told she needs pushchair that will tilt her pelvis but she also as a spinal cord defect but dontknow muc about that due to the fact she had collapsed lung at birth and was in special care so dr's dont want to put her under to do mri

ok so do NOT accept a major. they may turn round and tell you there is nothing out there (they did to me for whole year) there is stuff though. we had an ito by alvema which tilts whole seat back which sounds like would be beter than recline for your LO. is our physio and ot attending clinic as well? might be worth joining and posting on www.specialkidsintheuk.org theyv always helped when iv had wc clinic ;)

They won't offer a major for a 14month old (unless she is INCREDIBLY oversized!)..don't panic! If she has been referred before the age of three (kids are expected to manage in normal buggies til then if it's 'just a place to sit') she will be having a proper postural assessment and something reasonable!

It usually depends on your area to what the favoured pushchair will be. Otto Bock Kimbas are nice..and very adaptable, and commonly used. Ditto Alvema pushchairs.. Ito, Pixie, Ormesa buggies... there are lots out there!

Make sure they order raincovers for whatever you end up with!!

We had this one for ds2 from when he was 2 until ds3 was born. Don't know if it would be right for your dd though. It was a nightmare to get on the bus but it was good to push, had decent suspension and came with raincover and cosytoes.

our area wont pay for extras (raincovers etc) have to fund ourselves. and they try to give EVERYONE majors! had to fight for our ito. ever area is different!

JackTheNipper · 04/12/2011 17:59

We have this one which is ok easily manouverable etc, but bloody heavy when lifting in and out of the car.
All acessories have to be bought seperately as they do not provide them, a hood and rain cover is inexcess of £300 !!

Hope you got a suitable pushchair for your daughter, although I think you would be better for with a normal pushchair rather than a special needs one as they are always bigger and heavier.

I am selling my daughters special tomato eio if anyone knows someone who is looking for one. Email me on gpk mitchell at aol dot com
Very good condition as hardly used.
