Ok short version of our recent events [grin] the long story is [[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/special_needs/1347874-Come-and-chat-with-me-about-my-DS-please-long-sorry here]][grin]. DS (2) saw a SALT last Tuesday and it was decided that he would be referred to the combined clinic at a local CDC. The combined clinic is mainly ran with SALT, play worker ect, they basically do lots of observations and then decided on the best path of action to take. Saturday we got an appointment letter through for DS to see DD1s (ASD) Neuro Consultant early January, now of course i am thrilled to bits to have this appointment (DD1s consultant is FAB!!) but i rang today to check that this was right, I also checked if DS had also been referred to combined clinic (as this is what had been decided with the SALT) but he hasn't. I tried to call the SALT we saw last week but she's not working this week and no one else in the office can tell me why she referred to the consultant rather than the clinic. I know that we are in good hands with the doctor, but the last thing i want is any delay with starting SALT. I feel that his behaviour could be helped a great hugely if we could just help him his frustration. Now i could call the consultant but the last thing i want to be is a PITA as she is obviously very busy, but the most important thing for me right now is to help my child be happy and at the moment he spends a big part of his day angry and frustrated. I have a feeling that the new plan is for DDs consultant to see him and for her to decide what needs to be done, but then it will be January before he is put on any waiting list!! sorry im ranting (and i really shouldn't as things couldnt really have gone any better, if that can be said, under the circumstances [grin]) and not really getting my point across [hmm]. Now should i call the consultant and ask that he is at least be put on the SALTs/or combined clinics list? do i be patient (not a skill that im very good at [grin]) and wait for the SALT to call? or just wait n see whats said at the appointment in January.
