to appeal parts two and three.
Sick and tired of it tbh but have no choice anyway because to keep ds in the school he's at we need it to be a hundred times better than the pile of shit they sent not least because they wrote it to fit a mainstream sixth form placement Hmm and he's in a special school.
Hoping against hope they'll back down and agree to the changes we want but not hopeful, although they'll have to get new assessments made as they only have reports from when he was 3 Shock
Have a feeling the next few years are going to be backwards and forwards to Tribunal tbh to keep him there and to fight to get dd the provision she'll need in secondary.
Did a FOI and discovered that this year LA have been to 17 tribunals and have another 9 in the next three months not including ours which is three times as many as last year and thirteen times as many as five years ago which is frightening really.

You're absolutely right to be doing it. I know someone who got into a special school and stayed there for two years. Mother thought all sorted but KA tried to pull placement because Pt 4 didn't match 2&3.

In these times when LA staff are looking to save their jobs they have to get the money from somewhere.

Tribunals generated by my son's last school (1 stream entry primary) - 3 this term! My son escaped, the other 2 kids are still there but I'm shocked the HT and Senco are still in post as statistics like that should tell anyone with an ounce of common sense that something isn't right.

I've realised that for some lea's tribunal is seen as part of the process, not as a last resort as it was designed to be. The only way to change that atitude is to make lea's pay proper compensation on the day when they lose - e.g out of their personal pay packets and into the hands of the parents who have had to pay fro private reports their own staff should have been capable of producing and for loss of parental earnings while they mucked about.

Oh dear insanity - my sympathies, especially when you were so relieved after securing the place for your ds.

Hope they will back down.

I think LAs are looking at tribunals now as justification for their jobs - see how we protect public funds from these parents who want an unfair share for their children...

I know the last I looked, our LAs attendance at tribunals had doubled in a year.
