I am struggling to get my ds 6 dx autistic spectrum disorder to and from school. On a really bad day he will run off lie in the middle of the road, lie on the floor, run in people's gardens, kick cars and hurt anything near! I don't drive so we walk everyday, we walk the same route at the same time each day! I've tried hand straps he can get them off I also use the back packs with parent strap but he can also take these off!
When he runs off he's that quick I just can't catch him an he runs and runs we've had so many near misses!
Anyone got any ideas as to what else I can try as after this morning I'm at my wits end!

Thanks

I work in an ASD unit for adults, but a company we use also has child-sized options. Hope it helps, I know how stressfull it is. My DS is awaiting a DX for Asperger's and decided that cycling down the middle of the road was more interesting because he could look at the cat's eyes -cue 3 adults having to drag him off the road!!
