Yesterday Paed prescribed Vallergan for dd for 2 weeks to break the waking up and scratching cycle she is in.

Gave her some before bedtime last night and she slept better though not all night but, she has been asleep now for over 2 hours and that NEVER happens, could this still be vallergen working and is that normal?

Thanks

Hi, my daughter had it from when she was 6 months old for exzcema and asthma, so that she didnt scratch in her sleep. It worked short term in so much that it kept her asleep, however, it worked long term in making her scratch less.

Ds2, who has severe special needs, epilepsy, gdd etc was prescribed it to help him sleep but it only worked for about 5 nights. melotonin never touched him and he is currently on clhoral hydrate. i think the fact that he is on so many very strong meds, makes him immune to some other meds such as vallergan. it used to be used alot for getting children into sleep routines.
