I have a wonderful good friend who has a son with autism. He was dx'ed at 3 and she is so busy she doesnt really have time for the new research ect. He is lovely and they do very well.
We were all on holiday earlier in the year and its quite clear how sleep he has at night. Normally 4 hours a night!!
I finally got my sewing machine working, and gave him a weighted blanket i made. Shes texted to say for the last 3 nights since he had blanket he has been asleep by 11pm, which is amazing as normally its 3am.
have a lovely warm feeling and needed to tell someone

Good on you lisad, you must be a good friend to have. I reckon a good nights sleep for some is one of the best presents ever. Smile

she sent me a photo of him all snug in his bed wrapped in blanket. He says it smells like biscuits and is magic Grin

Aww, wish I'd known you when dd2 was younger. Mind she still doesn't sleep, she's just quieter now!

Lol, so far have only made them for friends and my girls. People have suggested I sell them but even then I only charge for materials and time. I hate the fact that SN equipment is so costly Angry

How do you make them Lisa? DS1 fancies one (to help him chill out on the sofa mainly, he has to juggle things with his feet while watching telly, which drives DH nuts!). Don't need details, just a rough idea, xmas pressy idea.

It's really easy. Will post links to instructions later when I'm in laptop.
