epilepsy and dyspraxia

I have a child and nephew and niece who are dyspraxic- my son very much so. His aunt has epilepsy- I am very keen to establish connections between the two in the hope of influencing neurology professionals to research further in this area. Alternately, anyone who has already done so - please make contact.

I have a very dyspraxic 17 year old son and feel I've read a lot about the condition (he's been diagnosed for 10 years) but I've never come across a link between it and epilepsy. Would be interested to know more ... good luck with your research.

My ds with CP is dyspraxic and has epilepsy. I think children with CP are at risk of developing epilepsy when adolescence starts as happened with my ds.
This is I think because there is scar tissue on the brain. What I don't know is whether children with dyspraxia and no CP diagnosis have lesions on the brain that make them more prone to having/developing epilepsy.

There are lesions on the brain with other conditions such as TS which is linked to epilepsy and autism (but not dyspraxia as far as I know). You also get lesions on the brain in MS but have not heard of any link with epilepsy.
I am assuming that the aunt with epilepsy is the mother of the children with dyspraxia is that correct ? It could also be that her anti-epileptic drugs could have affected her children's development before birth. Also it may not be linked to the structure of the brain but could still be genetic e.g. a faulty chromosome. My dd has epilepsy and so did her uncle (my brother) but there is no-one in the family with dyspraxia!
