Hi all, I've heard that families who have tried to obtain funding for full time funded aba in cardiff have failed miserably, even at tribunal level, attorney involvement etc. Would love to hear your experiences.

We'll be paying for 10 hrs a week of aba, spread over 4 days a week: 2hrs weekdays from 2.30 to 4.30 (will collect ds earlier from school) and sat am. That will still cost a fortune but we're so desperate for our ds to start progressing.

Youy need to put in a Freedom of |Information request to yuor LEA for facts on what they fund.
Ask how many children are funded out of county or in non mainstream or special schools and detaisl of each.

You will be amazed at what you find.

Then you need to start assembling a case.
Data relating to yuor child's progress on your home programme will help with this hugely.

That's very helpful thanks moondog. The therapist I've contacted mentioned that they will be videoing, doing data collection etc... once we've got good data I will get working. Thanks for this...

If you contact me privately, I can give you some documentation supporting ABA too.
I am a professional and a parent in this field. Smile

Hi moondog, thanks will do! worried about burning bridges with the school but if it's for his benefit I don't really care. :(

Well, there are diplomatic and courteous ways of getting what is best for your child.Presented properly, most schools I deal with love ABA. Kids learn faster and parents are happier and teachers' work makes more of an impact. What is not to like?
