So a very expensive highly rated EP was booked for today but we had to cancel as ds had a rough night complaining of pins and needles in his leg and thus morning couldn't walk.

So A&E and given his relative non-complaining dx a sprain but x-ray just in case.

X-ray came up with two fractures in his knee and therefore a cast. They have no crutches in his size and no wheelchairs. I can hardly carry him to nursery and if I could I still can't do much lifting as 4 months pg.

I can't drive but am expected to get ds to fracture clinic for 9:20am 40 miles away with dd in tow and a no- walking ds who is almost 5 and impossible to carry far.

He has an OT appointment next week for the tribunal.

He has been attending social skills groups and doing brilliantly but without being mobile he won't be able to initiate and if we are ever lucky enough foe EP to have a space in her diary she won't get to see the terrific progress he's made on ABA.

We were supposed to be seeing the HT of new school tomorrow morning but had to cancel to spend forever trying to get to hospital.

Grrr

Only just seen this, but for anyones future reference, the Red cross hire out wheelchairs for a deposit of £30 and you can have them for 3 months. The deposit is refundable.

Just saw this. How is your ds coping?

Hope everything gets sorted out soon.

Thanks all.

Justa, I think one of the reasons they were a bit Hmm was because I was insisting he had ASD and needed my support and they didn't seem to see it.

This was partly because he was amazingly behaved, partly because he couldn't move if he wanted to and partly because to my amazement he pretended to wrap my wrist in a bandage and 'pretend' he was checking where it was sore and then proceed to give me a bloodtest with a pen. Oh and also, the staff were so fantasticly patient and clear with him he WAS actually able to answer most of the questions himself.

One of the 'tests' seemed to be could I tell them which milestones he had reached. They also seemed a bit puzzled when I told them he wasn't under any paeds and that he had basically been given a dx then sent packing. I WAS able to give the name of the Paed though as she worked at the same hospital.

Star what a nightmare. Hopefully you don't have to worry about SS as lets face it you took him to hospital and are clearly not trying to hide anything. Well done for your DS being able to tell you and answer everything! Wow!

Thanks Agnes,

My biggest concern now is that he missed the very expensive, highly sought after, tribunal expert EP and whether we'll get her back in time and if so, on a day that we can arrange for her to see what we want her to see and whether we'll still have to pay due to having cancelled her on the day.

We're really running out of time.
