Just had the Ed Psych round and she has agreed ds2 will benefit from Portage, so he's going on the list. Mind you he is getting on a bit for a Portage child so I wonder if he will be seen before he is too old, lol!

our dd might finally be getting some portage - possibly.

Thanks to her brilliant nursery who are working very hard at becoming well informed on sn particularly down's syndrome - apparently dd was not on the special needs education register as she is a little young - usually they register them about 18mths to 2 - but because she is in full time nursery for now - the area SENCO is looking at providing the nursery with support and she is talking portage at this stage......

She has now been referred to the SEN register for the area and we will see what happens.

That's great news Eidsvold, keep us informed!

Just resurrected this thread to say I LOVE PORTAGE!!

We had our first home visit today and it was really helpful. She brought up the subject of DLA herself and is ordering the forms for me already. She has already scheduled some time to go through it all with me and help fill it in. She also sees the Paed fairly regularly so will be able to help me get her to add the medical bits.
DS1's full assessment is in just over a week so the portage worker went through what we should mention to each person as we see them. She will also be at the case conference at the end of the assessment. So once again:

I LOVE PORTAGE!!!

Ds2 has had a few sessions with his Portage worker now, and has really taken a shine to her. In fact, when she rang the bell today, he yelled "It's Shelle (michelle)! She's my girlfriend!) .
