OMG DS is playing hide and seek with DD

Okay, so neither of them are hiding very well but they are TAKING TURNS and playing the 'routine' of looking in rooms/places that would be impossible to hide someone.

I want to swear and cry!

aww, fab Smile

dd2 figured out quite quickly that if she called out, ds1 where are you, he'd answer Grin

StarlightMcKenzie · 15/11/2011 17:23

LOL Yeah they aren't patient and ds wants to hide in the same place every time etc etc. It's the worst game of hide and seek I have ever seen, but the best example of ds playing WITH a peer (okay sibling though she's almost caught him up) that I have ever seen.

oh, fab Smile

neither dd1 or dd2 are any good at keping quiet, so we get lots of giggles, and when we ham up the "is she in........ here?", then usually there will be an answer form whichever one is hiding Grin

What's the time, Mr Wolf is another firm favourite with dd1 - she even tries to get her tutors to play that one when she goes swimming at school! Gets a question/answer routine going.

Excellent !
DS has 'played' this-He always hides in the same place as the person who has just had their turn Smile

Brilliant, yay!

Ds is rubbish at this too. Not only usually hides in the same place, but when the other person shouts "coming ready or not" he yells out to tell them where he is Grin

DD is, frankly, even worse. But she's only just 2yo so can forgive her.

MangoMonster · 15/11/2011 19:13

Lovely, must be wonderful to watch :)

moosemama · 15/11/2011 19:19

That's lovely. I love it when my lot actually manage to get it together to do something together that they can all enjoy in their own way.

With hide and seek ds1 is the king of hiders and soooo quiet that none of us can ever find him. He can squeeze himself into impossibly tiny spaces that you'd never believe he could be in.

He has tried to play hide and seek with dd on several occasions, but just can't do all the grandious "Is she in here?" "I wonder if she's in the kitchen" "Where can she be?" etc. He just looks at me gone out and says "She's there Mum, you can see her bum sticking out". Grin I have tried to explain that she doesn't know we know where she is and enjoys hearing us 'looking' for her. He still doesn't get it though, because then he says "But you're not looking for her are you? You already know where she is." Grin

PoopyFingers · 15/11/2011 19:31

Yay! That is fantastic! I'd be chuffed to bits!

Can you join in? Grin

Awwww Great stuff! Grin

tryingtokeepintune · 16/11/2011 00:44

That's such great news. Well done ds.

Now you have to teach both of them to hide - and look for them after you have cup of tea! Grin

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 16/11/2011 00:47

I've got a lump in my throat! That's a really huge step/big deal!!

IndigoBell · 16/11/2011 10:09

Well done little star.

Very pleased for you and him.

StarlightMcKenzie · 16/11/2011 10:36

Thanks everyone.

Just letting you know here, on a thread far too boring for the LA, that I am changing my name for a while as there is some high drama about to unfold for us and I need to be a bit more anon for a bit.

You'll probably recognise me as soon as I say something predictable though, that is usually what happens anyway Grin
