I told DS I'm going into school tomorrow for a meeting that he'll probably be at...

It's to look into his options for leaving school (he's 15), it's looking like uni is a possibility (yay) but obviously it's not as straightforward as finding the best course and applying for that one, so we've been meeting with the ASN co-ordinator and careers and looking at support in unis and that sort of thing so that we can plan ahead a bit.

DS is only worried that he might miss home ec last thing and it's a cooking week Grin (he does like his food to be fair)

but what really made me rofl was - the meeting's at half 12, lol, dear god if we've not finished by last period I'll have lost the will to live.

I'm a firm believer that most meetings can be run along a similar format to the one below and so shouldn't take longer than 20 mins for the "meat" of the meeting + 10 mins polite meet & greet .

Formal Meeting purpose? (title)
Input Pack
Written/visual documentation so everyone comes to the meeting fully prepped on the topuc
goalsxpected outcome of meeting.
No more than 3 targets here - all measurable
e.g agreement on type of UNi (open, local or foreign country)
nest steps - again measurable & to be completed by the date of the next meeting.
e.g
Advisory person will set up a visit to X Uni by y date.

Date for next meeting

(agreed attendee list)

The exceptions being workshop style stuff where everyone writes on a white board and participates or collaborates to produce an end product, (eg a formal plan that everyone signs up to)

Clear meeting objectives and expected outcomes are summat that seems so easy in the corporate world where time is considered money but in the "sen world" seem a distant dream. I'm with your son on this one Wink

Oh I'm expecting it to be about half an hour...even if it's a little bit longer, he's not cooking until 2.55 Hmm rofl

It just really amused me that he's so not interested in it at all and has no issues with it all except - he wants to make sure he gets to cook and eat, lol
