First words

DS has uttered his first attempts at real words today! He filled in 'star' and 'are' to his favourite song! I nearly died of shock and wanted to cry at the same time. He doesn't say any words at all, not even mama or dadda, this was truly amazing! Grin

Men are so not designed for multi tasking are they? I can't keep track of where I am posting or meant to post...

Twinkle Twinkle is ds's favourite too. very happy for you, there seems to be a lot of similarities between our ds from what I have read so far, so I am hoping that he will follow in the same footsteps as your ds soon.

Brilliant! My DS1's first word was up (uh, actually) which we got him to practise loads in such songs as The Grand Old Duke of York! See if you can get him to finish any other familiar songs, Mango. Smile

silverfrog · 04/11/2011 23:10

oh wow! fantastic Grin

dd1 used to use a lot of jargon - she was always trying to talk to us, but little made sense (she could only use 'di' and 'da' as syllables, which meant interpreting it all was a little tricky, to say the least!)

her first proper word was 'water' ("au-tah!"), when she was feeling really poorly, poor little thing. we were in the car, and she asked (desperately Blush) for 'au-tah' - I nearly crashed in excitement!

singing/songs were great for expanding dd1's vocab, and practising articulation etc.

Lovely to read Mango Smile. My Ds started talking by filling in missed out words in songs!

insanityscratching · 05/11/2011 07:29

Lovely news, well done mini mango Smile

Ds's first words were one, two, three, pronounced perfectly after having no words and no inclination to speak either.

signandsmile · 05/11/2011 07:40

that's fabulous, it's a lovely feeling isn't it... Grin.

Great news

slowburner · 05/11/2011 19:38

Brilliant!

DD has no words, occasionally attempts to mimic words but her first sign was 'duck', followed by 'star' due to twinkle twinkle. She also makes the milk sign, usually with both hands, but also uses that for babies and when she is happy.

Quack.
