How did it go? We are due to have a similar appointment next month for DC aged 3 years.
Hope it went well and wasn't too stressful for all concerned.

It's almost certain just need to meet DS and collate reports. They have a huge problem with young people coming from children's team with no DX because they don't want to label them. I'm so relieved means I've not been imagining it all these years.

Wow Borderlass, I still can't beleive you have struggled on all this time with no Dx for your Ds, it is shocking. I am so glad that you are now seeing someone who is going to help[hopefully].

I think this issue of not labelling children is getting beyond a joke, we were told several times that we were unlikely to get a dx for Dd3 due to this ridiculous notion.

We were very lucky in the end to get a great team at CAMHS who Dxed her in less than a year.

I never did manage to get a Dx for DD1 and she is just struggling along but her lack of Theory of Mind and empathy gets her into no end of difficulty.

ReallySmile for you.

Basically he was DX with GDD at 2 [they didn't know what was wrong basically] he had intense OT and SALT, ADHD at 6 SPD at 14. He was supposedly assessed at 8 but that was a load of crap I was in waiting room and he was seen for half an hour by 'experts' who said he interacted with his carers and had good eye contact so therefore wasn't autistic. His EP and school paediatrician argued at every review meeting over the DX, EP got him into an ASD school for his high school years. Feel the children's team let my boy down but now I feel we can have closure and move on to his future with the adult team. I have seen so many different people since January its unreal, children's team only saw me once a year only saw DS every couple of years. SW phones me for regular catch up and support she is already putting in application for next summers respite and is trying to get 2 full weeks, only got our first respite [except DD1 looking after him] this year. Finally feel my fighting is over.
