I love reading your posts Amberlight. You have brought me to tears. I know that he cares about us but reading that I now know that we will have to work hard to "display the right words and actions to show it". I'm thankful that DS hasn't had enough of the experiences that mean that he has felt pain, therefore he can understand and empathise with the pain.

You really do help those of us who aren't on the ASD spectrum but have children who are/probably are to understand how our children might tick. I have the Autism and Empathy on my Facebook and I have started to read it to get that other perspective that I am missing.

I read something the other day on it that reminded me that the way that autistic people view the world is just a different way, not a wrong way. It is something that I keep fighting with as I keep only seeing the world in my way - that is wrong I know.

But very understandable - all of us can only see the world through our own eyes and senses, so it takes time to learn about each other. It's taken me a lifetime to learn about the wonderful people around me, and I'm still learning all the time.
