please can somebody resourceful and clever out there help me! I have twins with Cerebral Palsy - one is being fitted for a wheelchair next week. But his four-year-old brother can't walk either. I'm on my own most of the time with my (three) kids - how on earth can I adapt the wheelchair? I've thought of buggy board (not great, DS2 can't stand for long) or a sitting board. My physio saw someone in bluewater with a buggy and a sit-astride trike thing which travelled behind. Anyone seen this or know where I could get one? Does anyone have any bright ideas - or a solution? Wheelchair services are saying I'll just have to wheel two wheelchairs on my own. . . durr! Please mums - its over to you!!

Gosh, I'm rubbish at this - techno nightmare. This is my THIRD attempt at posting to thank you both for that - brilliant, brilliant. If my other messages pop up too - it only goes to show just how grateful for your help I really am!!!!!

try these (anyone feel free to do a link!!!)

www.fledglings.org.uk/

"Fledglings is a not-for-profit organisation which helps parents and carers of a child with special needs of any kind to find simple, affordable solutions to practical problems.

We offer a free product search service to locate toys, clothing, developmental aids and other items which may stimulate the child?s development or give relief to the carer. Many such products are kept in stock and we can obtain many more from the wide range of manufacturers and suppliers we deal with
Once we have located a suitable product, we are usually able to supply it and to do so at a competitive price.

The organisation has to date been operated largely by a volunteer workforce, made up of ?professional? volunteers supported by parents and carers of children with special needs and disabilities"

Hi amandamum - no ideas but wanted to say hello. We must catch up in the NY.

Hi Anniebear - that's fantastic. Thank you. For everyone else - it has taken the 'experts' four months to tell me they can't find a solution. It took the other mums out there 24 hours to come up with three really good, sensible options which will probably make my life 200 per cent easier. Incredible, ain't it? Goes to show what an amazing and resourceful bunch you are.
Heartinthecountry - definitely been too long! Lots to tell. Archie needs major surgery next summer. Another story, another day! Spk soon x
