Off or on? We took the bulb out of ds1's room as he kept flicking at lunchtime. Last year we had this thing where were all stumbing around in the dark (horrified SS though who gave us lots of direct payments ). Initially I allowed the living room light to be off, but others had to be on. Then I snapped and held my hand over the lightswitch so it couldn't be turned off - ds1 screamed for an hour then accepted it and was fine. Unfortunately I snapped on xmas day!

.....ringing bells here...alex (not diagnosed...but sure he will be...is 6 but still keeps switching lights off...taking batteries out of things....but the lights ...well....have noticed that he is always switching them off. (leigh liks lights...unles they flash...he is most didturbed by tube/strip lighting )

He just keeps clicking them on and off really fast. I think he likes the noise and also the fact that it gets my attention. This house has thin walls and you can hear everything so when he starts clicking away upstairs I can hear him. He was doing the one on the landing yesterday and gave me the cheekiest grin when I came rushing to the bottom of the stairs to tell him off

This brings back memories of ds1's fascination with light switches. Arrgghh!

Ds2 thankfully hasn't tried to climb up to switch them on (yet!) but just barks orders at whoever is nearest. It doesn't help that he doesn't understand the difference between the words "on" and "off" either:

Ds2: Switch light on!

Poor sod nearby: It's already on.

Ds2: Switch light oooooon!

PSN: But it's already on!

Ds2: SWITCH LIGHT OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!
(accompanied by shrieks and screams)

PSN: Oh! You mean off!

Gaaah! I know what you mean about the batteries, MrsF. Ds2 is the worst culprit. Not only do the batteries go missing but the battery covers disappear too.

Im just glad that we dont celebrate xmas as DS would go mad at all the flicking bright lights, whenever we pass a house with loads out the front he screams!!!!
