Stupid Stupid HV

ive posted about my HV before-whose is nicknamed "FEMFRESH" by my sister!!!

Anyway i put her down to represent me at my DLA appeal hearing because she was on holiday and wasnt there to ask and i thought the worse thing she sould say would be no........

And she did.

Gota phonecall this morning to say she has received a letter telling her the time and date of the hearing, Very Very stroppy with me "I thought we,d agreed i wasnt going with you and you would get someone else"
I told her that someone from the Benefits agency is coming but i havent got the name yet, she said "I,ll ring DLA NOW and tell them im NOT going to represent you"

DH has been telling me to fire her off for ages and is shouting in the background obscenities at her.

So she rings back and DH takes the call "Tell Jen that they have NO record of anyone else representing her and that she,d better phone them to sort this out"

So i did, the guy on the phone told me who i was before i did and said "Ive just had your HV on the phone, ive told her its no problem, just disregard the letter and we,ll wait for the applicable person to notify us"

Stupid Stupid woman, she is doing my head in, since having dd ive had PND and she,s not been sympathetic, ive had to plead for her to take notice of dd,s development delay who we now think has CP, i had to be asked to be referred to Portage and Family Support-she never tells me anthing we,re entitled to if it wasnt for MN i wouldnt be getting any extra help.

DH wants me to change HV but i dont want to cause a fuss and i dont know how to go about doing it-does anyone know?

Sorry for the rant- -feel better for it though

I've no idea how you would go about doing it but definitely request a new HV.

I am a little out of touch now but iirc, I would ring the trust (if they are still called that) and ask to speak to whoever is the hv manager. Ask her if you can change and put it in writing. You don't have to have a hv, and you do not have to give reasons why you want to change.

What an awful woman!!!!!!! I can only say it may be a godsend she will not represent you in your appeal, cant imagine for a minute she would be much help. Can your dds gp, or physiotherapist represent you.

One way of getting a new health visitor might be to change your GP surgery?

I know when I made my complaint about one of the GP's at my surgery - the only reason that stopped me moving surgeries was that I wanted to keep my HV and we would have had to change over to the one that supports the other surgery.

I think what ill do is this, i have 2 HV,s, one is the horrible femfresh and the other a really nice lady who works for surestart, so ill stay with the nice one and not bother femmy any more!!
