feel guilty about dla

i know this sounds crazy but i feel guilty about dd dla. i thought shed get turned down. shes on sa+ , under specialist physio, tier3 chams, has difficultys socialy but no dx, if you saw her you would wonder what was wrong.

She would have got it because she requires more care (assuming it's the care side) than a child who doesn't require DLA.
They don't just award DLA to anybody. Don't feel guilty. See more as recognition of the extra appointments/care etc that dd attends/needs.

i know , is suppose getting dla , is a reconition of how ill shes been . i guess i feel bad because the school is in denial

i should feel happy , I can save for her future , i guess its just that I thought she may grow out of her probs , but then she started getting back and knee pains last year. lea have taken away her taxi , but kindly provided a more flexible bus pass than other kid in our area get , i will prob end up having to take her on bus , so will use her dla to get myself a 3 month bus pass i think x

Don't feel guilty, we get dla for both dd's but dd1 appears NT to most people (she has AS and hypermobility), her DLA is up for renewal after christmas and i have a feeling we wont get it again , dd1 does have era needs (she has meltdowns and wont walk far as well as the anxiety issues) but most of these problems are only visable at home.

I wouldn't feel guilty, we receive it for both DS with mobility issues. DLA is usually only given after contact with a doctor/ other health professional. It wouldn't have been awarded if you were not entitled.

As long as you feel you were honest then its THEIR decision. A bit of advice too, its much better to get into the system and establish the need now, I have many friends who apply for DLA for their child when they are in their teens or technically adult at 16 and it can be very hard. Its much harder to argue that they have been manageable and not harder work for many years but then suddenly its changed iyswim.
