Hi, has anyone got any suggestions for presents for a severely autistic 4 yr old boy. He likes bouncing and sweet wrappers, but has plenty of both of these! His mum doesn't like him to have too babyish things.

Presumably he already has a mini trampoline? What about an exercise ball, you can get a round Nike one in Argos and there are bean-shaped ones available. A rocking chair? Freestanding hammock? If you look in the catalogue Letterbox, or follow the link from the MN home page, you'll find various toys for balance and bouncing, e.g. Lolo ball (I think its called), wobble board. Woollies are doing lots of special lamps such as lava lamps, disco balls, plasma ball and others. Also one of those pin things that you push your hand or objects into and make an impression iyswim. I suppose a lot of these things are "stimmy" but could also be seen as sensory. HTH.

wow thanks - that is so brilliant. He's already gone through several trampolines and spacehopppers, an exercise ball could be good. Like the idea of the impression thing too.
