DS has been referred to Child Development Centre with possible ASD. They say they are very busy at the moment and he will not be seen by the peadiatrician until December :(

Our private health insurance company are willing to pay for diagnosis of his condition but I cannot find any information about private options (if there are any!) online?

We are in th SW but will travel anywhere as we have done in the past.

Can anyone help?

Lenin I so know what you mean about energy consuming. DS saw a clip for about 30 secs of a film with a gorrilla in it. I think its Mighty Joe or something like that DH said. He was on his way upstairs to bed and DH was flicking through channels. Now this monkey was in the middle of roadway with ppl..........thats all I saw and we were on way upstairs. DS Said why was the monkey in the road, he was upset, the ppl had guns, the police lights were flashing what happend to him? DH simply made up the story saying he was from the jungle and ppl wanted him for a circus but other ppl were rescuing him. Well that was it tears HOW could somebody take the monkey away from his family. But they had guns (I didnt even see that) So I said they were good ppl and had sleepy darts as he was very big and scared. When he was asleep then they took him back to his home and he woke up in the jungle with his family.

It took me two hours to get the upset that he was a stolen animal out of his head and all because of a 30 sec clip or less. He just transfixed himself on the cruelty side rather than the happy ending.

The good side of it Lennin is that your DS has compassion for others and that is a very important feeling to have Smile

DS can charge around like an animal and growl and upset his sister big time and on meltdown I dont recognise him sometimes. Empathy wise is a no no. His sister promised to do something the next day but she woke up poorly. He said oh dear never mind so when are we going to to what you said. Explained all morning but he was having none of it because a promise had been broken regardless of why. At the same time if he hears of something happening to an animal or how the world is getting destroyed ie ozone, or there is an advert with a child suffering I got to turn it off quick because that upsets him all day and then meltsdown because he cant put it right.

We cant hide them from life although we would all like to and they deserve straight answers (mine is probable AS so wont budge if he is being fobbed off). The sad thing is that there are awful things happening around us but at least they will be prepared reasonably for it one day and older to cope with the worries. Smile
