OK... we saw some people at camhs on Monday and they asked a lot of questions about behaviour and obsessions...
We thought that daughter was really well behaved until we realised we cater for her every whim!! to stop her from Kicking Off. We always tell her our plans other wise she will refuse to do what we want... I mean we can't go on a bike ride or walk on the spur of the moment.. it has to be planned.. we can't go shopping on the spur of the moment...when its planned we have to negotiate.. and are only allowed in about 3 shops.... (how did things get like this)????
We realise that daughter has always liked spinning and movement from and early age... crawling round in circles as a baby... the swing.. handstands and now bloody cartwheels... how many children do you know that do cartwheels where ever there is a space.... even in clarks the shoe shop..... (how do I know if this is an obsession)
these obsessions... do they have time lapses.... are they continous
daughter had this phase with this tamagotchi thing... she used to look them up on the computer, feed it, play with it, took it every where with her.. I had to take it to work and there was hell to pay if it died!!
when she was about 6 (3 years ago) she had a thing about a cartoon character and would spend hours in her room being this character, doing her hair like this character... singing like this character... wearing clothes like this character.. if we went out like to the park she wanted ot go home and dress up like this character... it only lasted a couple of months.. but wasn't replaced instantly with something else...
sorry this got a bit long...
can anyone help...
