Statement - help getting specialist maths provision

Is anyones child taught by a special needs maths teacher and is this worded in their statement and how did you get this.

My dd has a statement of 28 hours, 6 sessions a term of SaLT and an hour a week of OT. I had asked for specialist maths teaching twice a week by a special needs maths teacher either one to one or in small groups. Over the past four years she has either been taught in small groups by a LSA so no qualified teaching time, or in a large class with a LSA.

I am in the process of rejecting the statement but need some help with the wording of what she should receive and if it is reasonable.

Do you have any reports from professionals recommending special teaching (usually from an ed psych)? You would have a much better chance of getting that kind of teaching with a report with specific recommendations. LAs simply don't take notice of requests from parents unless it is backed up by a professional. An ed psych from the LA is unlikely to make such a recommendation, as twice a week 1:1 would be quite costly, so you'd probably have to pay for an independent report. Even then, LAs often ignore independent reports until parents appeal and they are forced to take notice by a tribunal.

why do you want a special needs maths teacher? Will the scores on her Ed Psych report support this? Is this for dyscalculia?
