I was involved with them when my DD was first involved in the statementing process. They are very helpful in supporting you and your child and can attend meetings with you, if required.

A very good service.

No experience but thought I'd better reply in case you're still feeling paranoid about posting too much on here.

I found mine to be really supportive and helpful when things first kicked off with ds. In hindsight she didn't really do much more than hold my hand and give me a bit of advice but it was just what I needed at the time.

Mine is nice, but don't rely on them to be accurate. They are also usually employed by LEA, although they are supposed to be impartial.

I agree mmh mine told me to sign my ds statement saying it was quite a good one. Turns out it was inadequate for his needs, now fighting for more funding

I have had contact with our local parent partnership for both my younger two.

They were great with the 8 year old, well helpfull any way, didn't achieve anything.

But with my 5 year old they were useless, phoned them as we had been refused assessment for my son (Complex needs including ASD, ADD and Deaf) they told me not to bother appealling as my sons school is a good one and he was sure they could cope!!!! Funily enough I got a questioniere off them yesterday to tell them what I thought of their help ( Bet you can't guess what I wrote.) .
