hi

we are waiting on a referal for my dd as we think she has dyspraxia
she has lots of the symptoms
the main thing is that she finds it hard to drop off to sleep
we tried a blanket ontop of duvet this helped abit
we put her into bed she keeps getting out and coming down
we end up letting her sleep in our bed

hi, i did reply on your other thread, i think you may have missed it. my ds2 (10) has dyspraxia and also sleep issues, only his are not to do with dropping off, he can be up for the day anywhere after 3am.

My son has dyspraxia and also has problems with sleep, he is 11. It takes him hours to drop off and awakes through out the night either wandering around aimlessly or has nightmares

Hi not sure if its relevent but my ds (4) has verbal dyspraxia and needs medicated to help him sleep. Without the melatonin he would be up until midnight before dropping off to sleep through pure exhaustion only to be up and ready for the day around 3. He also has epilepsy which may be the reason for the poor sleep - don't know Confused. It would be interesting to know if there have been any studies done re a link.

< goes off to google......... >

Thanks farming4 that was a really helpful article even if it just describes exactly my dd's sleeping problem. Now to find ways of helping her to 'switch her brain off'!

My ds aged 4.9 has verbal dyslraxia and sleeping has been a big problem. After a lot of effort, he now sleeps through approxmately every second night.
