Evening, great to hear of all little sign's positive developments - makes up for my crap half-term.
Am very
of your break - I feel desperately in need of escaping my crowd, for the sake of my sanity. Alas tis the dreaded toilet training with dd next week, so its not to be. Peppa Pig pants - check, bright spotty pants - check - half a dozen trainer pants - check, travel potty and liners - check, brand new family toilet seat with mini seat that clips into lid - check, book of toilet training reward stickers - check, 2 year old dd who is ridiculously excited about going on the toilet - check. So it seems we are good to go. Both boys were dry from day one with no accidents, but something tells me, 1. I can't possibly get that lucky three times and 2. Theres no way dd is going to be that cooperative.
Am dreading it.
Hope you have a great time and come back refreshed, glowing and brimming with peace and tranquility.
We have all been trapped in the house with the virus from hell this week. Everyone else was pretty much better bar a few sniffles by Wednesday, but mine is still rumbling on.
All this beautiful sunshine and I've been trapped in my dark, north-facing living room with a jumper on.
Still, we are putting up the tents in the garden tomorrow in anticipation of a forthcoming camping trip with our friends and their dcs in a couple of week's time. Not sure whether to look forward to it or dread it, it'll be us, 3 dcs and 2 dogs plus them and their two. They have never camped before, obviously my ds1 has AS, their ds has an as yet undxd developmental disorder, speech problems and dyspraxia, dd is at that lovely 2 year old - no volume control - age and between them the noise levels can sometimes be, errrr, a bit - well, you get the picture. It will be a miracle if we're not thrown off the site.
We have a plan though - 4 out of 5 of the dcs are taking their dsi's so that should keep them all quiet for at least an hour a day and if necessary may be used to ensure peace is maintained until a reasonable get-up time in the morning. Actually, come to think of it, I've decided - I'm definitely dreading it.
We are also off to do some WWII research for ds1 at a local museum this weekend, to try and inspire his classwork a bit.
Ooo - I did sign the boys up for Maths Whizz this holiday on the advice of some of you lovely ladies and they are seriously loving it. Even better - it means an extra half an hour each of peace for me and as they sit and watch each other, that actually adds up to a whole hour of peace in the morning and another hour for ds time in the afternoon.
Have ordered the Tony Buzzan mind mapping for kids book as well, in the hope we can teach ds1 some mind mapping techniques over the summer. We're hoping it will help his general organisation skills, but in particular how he plans and structures written work.
Well, I thought I had nothing to say this evening, but appear to have done my usual essay.
I'll shut up now!
