25 Ta rate + 5 dinner time supervisor rate.

So relieved just waiting to see how that looks on the statement, then I will be after some of you knowledgeable posters to rewrite look over it.

I think we have been lucky despite inclusion saying initially she wouldn't meet criteria, we had a very good EP and SEN Officer and the process so far has been smooth.

I suppose I just wanted to say it's not always the battle you think it will be and go with your instinct.

That's great but just wait til you try and implement it. Sometimes getting the statement is the easy bit!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 26/05/2011 13:57

I would certainly want to be looking at Parts 2 and 3 of the proposed statement very closely as such support needs to be both specified and quantified (as required in law). Woolly minded stuff like "child x may receive..." is unacceptable.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 26/05/2011 13:58

And if SALT is an issue then that needs to be in Part 2 as well as 3.

Attila would you consider looking at it for me when it arrives I would really appreciate your experience?

Well done! Nice to hear some positive stories on here.....

AttilaTheMeerkat · 26/05/2011 14:44

Sure (however, I am not around this weekend or early next week though).

hotmamalovespavlova · 26/05/2011 14:49

Thank you-don't think it'll be that soon as SEN Officer has a massive case load

Just be careful how it is worded.

A statement that says 'School will fund 15 hours of support and the LA will fund an additional 15 hours' doesn't mean that your child will get anything at all. It's all in the wording. Make sure you run it by someone knowledgable.

Starlight-that is where all you lovely mumsnetters come in Wink

Not in black and white yet, but... Whoo hooo! That's a very promising position to be starting off with! SOS SEN have got a good guide on going through the statement wording, avoiding 'will have access to, would benefit from' etc.

hotmamalovespavlova · 26/05/2011 20:32

Whoo hooo indeed this is the first day in months that I haven't obsessed about school.
Tomorrow I will resume fretting about how it may be written-what is SOS SEN?
I have the code of practice and schools SEN toolkit.

Great news Grin. Don't know anything about statements as we used something else (sorry forgotten what it was called now - brain a bit mincelike tonight), so can't offer any advice.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 26/05/2011 20:51

How to check a statement from SOSSEN.

hotmamalovespavlova · 27/05/2011 07:42

Thank you
