Feeling nervous, this morning the LEA should have received a letter from the MP and my notification that I have instructed solicitors to begin the process of a judicial review over their failure to issue an amended statement for ds (now three months past the deadline)
This afternoon the allocations panel will be meeting so no doubt our case will be discussed. Please, please let them see sense and issue an amended statement naming the Independent Special School and ending this agony.
Vibes, thoughts and hand holding seriously needed.

No news from the LEA not even an acknowledgement that I have instructed a solicitor Angry However the solicitor (from the most highly rated specialist firm in the Country) has emailed and has accepted the case and has begun to draft her first letter to the LEA and even better has confirmed that as ds is 16 she will be representing him in his own right and as such he will be a legal aid case Grin Fantastic news that we can have the best representation and not have to bankrupt ourselves in the process.

Well done, this must be such a relief. I have taken my 18 year old for legal advice today and like your child he will be represented in his own right and we wont be responsible for the costs of JR.

There may still be good news from the LEA, good luck

My son obtained legal aid (as was) to engage a solicitor when he was 16.

Once you have the educational provision sorted stick with the solicitor to sue the LA for educational negligence - as son successfully did.

Best wishes

Thanks for the tip Wet August will do that as ds has been in a provision not meeting his needs for the last six months a fact documented by the LEA's Ed Psych and still they won't name an alternative.
