I am bloody exhausted by 9am and I just want to whine

Every morning we have to do 30-40 mins physio. This morning that turned into over an hour's screaming, with her little sister sitting in the kitchen with her hands over her ears. Dh and I had a headache by 8.30am and I have felt like weeping ever since.

This was after an hour up in the night because she took the things she has to wear on her feet at night off again and again

Once she is in a howling mood there is no getting her out of it. The whole family had a horrid morning and I feel exhausted.

I just want to rant and mope, really. She's 10. It's not like we're not used to this.

Love, a very, very old mumsnetter who has returned merely to solicit pity)

you have my sympathies, dd3 screamed for half an hour this morning just because she didn't want to put her uniform on. I've dropped them all at school, come home and just flumped in the chair with a strong Brew and some chocolate and ds2 has decided to have an early nap Smile However used to the screaming you are it doesn't mean it can't make you feel like crap from time to time.

HairyMaclary · 05/05/2011 10:36

Oh dear, you have my sympathy. We are also supposed to be doing daily physic but since DS leaves forschool at 7.30 we have abandoned trying to do it. I do feel quite guilty about that! We haven't figured a way around it yet.

Becaroooo · 05/05/2011 10:37

A horrid way for you all to start the day, I'm sorry Sad

moosemama · 05/05/2011 10:38

You have my sympathy as well. Its awful feeling that exhausted and screaming is so wearing and doesn't get any easier to cope with. In fact I tend to think your nerves get more and more jangled as it goes on, so you actually become more sensitised to it.

I haven't had a decent night's sleep all week thanks to ds1's new ridiculously loud night-cough, which wakes the whole house and miraculously disappears if he gets some attention for it. Hmm If we ignore him, he literally keeps it up all night (we tried, he coughed loudly from 1.30 am to 6 am the other day! Shock) I was just starting to feel a little better from my CFS crisis and this has knocked me for six again ad I have literally pages of things on my to do list that I am now incapable of doing.

To cap it all, I have the boys at home today thanks to the school being used as a polling station.

I'm still in my pjs and dressing gown, as I can't summon up the energy to have a shower and get dressed.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 05/05/2011 10:52

Ooh, that doesn't sound like fun for anyone. Feeling a bit guilty that DS sleeps through nowadays, even if not until 10.30pm. Screaming at 'injustices' has cut down to only 10 mins or so. Me here, too, in my pjs, their school and mine closed as polling stations. Should probably do something healthy and educational with them, but can't be arsed.

Sounds like Brew might not do it justice today millionsandmillions. When could you get away with Wine ?

Becaroooo · 05/05/2011 10:55

oh moose You poor thing! Night coughing is awful isnt it?

I am suffering RIDICULOUSLY with hay fever already this year....sneezing, red sore eyes, sore throat, headache...ugh Sad

Have been and done some jobs in town earlier....I am now not going ANYWHERE til its time to pick ds1 up from school later!!! Smile

moosemama · 05/05/2011 12:27

The thing is, he doesn't actually have a cough - his sister does! She is genuinely coughing all night (post nasal, not chesty - but loud) so was already keeping me awake, as her cot is still in our room next to my side of the bed (long story) and I guess he cottoned on to the attention she was getting. Dh told me off for being unsympathetic, but I know ds1 and there is no way that's a geniuine cough - not least of all, because it gets louder and louder the longer its ignored and then miraculously stops the second we pay him any attention. Hmm Dh has been getting him up and bringing him downstairs for a drink of water, which of course made it really rewarding. Hmm

oh thank you so much, I feel so much less alone now!

Moose I had ME/ CFS a few years ago - horrid. Double horrid.

HairyMaclary we have a huge op coming up for dd later this year, so the physio is an absolute must -there have been times when we've been more lax, but the pressure is really on now. And the guilt! The guilt for not pulling their legs around more and more and more often!

You have my sympathies too - We had a major meltdown last night and then up and down most of the night- I had to be in work for 9 and then had a really important education meeting

.....but I'm home now and have put some wine in the fridge for later..(honest)

We do physio, but it doesn't take that long thank goodness(and ds likes it) - Is there any way they can do some at school sometimes ?

intothewest · 05/05/2011 13:27

sorry-missed your post MILLIONS -It takes me ages to type

millionsandmillions · 06/05/2011 11:28

They do it at school a bit, but not every day - and with her op coming up we really need to get her stronger.

This morning we didn't manage it at all - she threw a strop about teethbrushing and we all ended up in tears on the sofa Sad
