DD is 13 and hasn't been able to take anything since she was about 2. not even calpol. she's never actually been ill so hasn't really needed anything but there are times when it would be helpful for her to be at least able to try a paracetamol for a headache ofr something for her incessant tummy aches.

she says once she knows there is something crushed/disolved/mixed with anything she just can not make her body swallow it. not even liberal nutella works. and she's too old and aware of things for me to hide anything.

any ideas?

Neurophen used to do a melting tablet, not sure if they still do I used to give them to my dd1 (nt) as she couldn't swallow tablets at the time and was too old for calpol, if they still do them it may be worth a try?

she can't do any sort of melty things. they all taste pretty vile and she knows what they are.

will try practicing with crushing and disolving.

Oh gosh I know this one sooo well.

Dd2[15 nt] really struggles with this, she was soo bad when she was little that we had to use supositories[sp].

She can occassionally manage a hayfever tablet now and half a paracetamol for period pains but it is such a struggle for her.

Dd3[8 ASD] was even worse as a baby but when she was 4 she had a horrendous ear infection and I managed to get her to suck some calpol out of a sachet, she was in agony and desparate!!

Since then I have kept her in training I give her a sachet about once a month whether she needs it or notHmm.

She can also manage the very tiny hayfever tablets but only because she hates the taste of the liquid and feels so rough without anything.

I totally feel for you it becomes a phobia for them Dd2 would as a child do anything to avoid taking something.

I agree with zzz about practicing it will take time though.

Good luckSmile.
