looking back over some reports from last year , the neurologist who diagnosed ds2 with epilepsy said ds2 is hypotonic with excessive range of joint movement. well i always knew he had funny bendy thumbs lol and had 2 incidents of a pulled elbow when little but didnt think much of it.

hes 12 now and we are waiting for camhs appointment as there are concerns , aspergers has been mentioned , low self esteem etc

is there any relevance ?

As/ASD can be linked with hypermobile joints (alot of children on the spectrum are exra bendy), dd1 (AS) has bendy joints, can do the splits, sits in odd positions but doesn't bend her knees (not sure why).

thanx , i have also read that there may be a link between epilepsy and asd . it was written on the letter about the hypotonia but nothing was brought up about it . do you think i should mention it at camhs ?

Yes ,mention it to CAMHS. My friend used to work at a school (boarding school) for children with ASD, she said many of them had Epilepsy so maybe there is a link there.
