Anyone elses DC have to be completely under the duvet in order to sleep?

DS has started doing this. He has to "hide" and since he's in our bed with a big quilt and it's so warm it's really worrying.

He is almost four with ASD and has all sorts of problems with sleeping anyway, this is a new and dangerous development.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this or if there are any products I could buy which might simulate the feeling he is craving?

thanks in advance Smile

Could you replace the duvet with a sheet?
I used to do that, but mainly because I was scared!

That's well worth a try thank you Cinnamon. I suppose it should have occurred to me Blush but it has been a loooooong holiday!

:) no problem. Sometimes a sheet doesn't feel heavy enough on the body. Even a thin blanket or dressing gown on the lower half of the body gives that added security feeling, while allowing the sheet over the head without your DS getting too hot.
Good Luck

I actually do this myself, mainly to block out the light Blush. Is it dark enough in your room? Would blackout blinds/curtains help?

It's pretty dark, heavy velvet curtains. I like the half and half idea too. He has always preferred our heavy duvet for security as you say so that would work.

Good to see he isn't unusual in this respect too Grin
