Incredible. DH and I are lying in bed with DS between us (he still gets into bed with us in the middle of the night, oh dear!). DD starts banging on her door and generally telling us in her way she wants milk/breakfast when she says, really clearly, 'Mummmmmmyyyyyy'. DH nearly jumped out of his skin. If we hadn't both heard it we would have probably thought we had imagined it. She said it with exactly the same intonation that DS uses. She's such a mini minx- says a word in context perfectly and then never says it again. Autism, eh? How wonderful though. I don't care if I never hear it again

Wow! Bet you needed a G&T after that. I need a permanent video recorder so I capture these 'talking' moments and can play them back. DD said 'more' today, I'm sure of it. She's such a mini minx. She's getting so much more communicative though, and dragged me to the door, virtually pointed at the handle and then looked from the handle to me and back again yesterday! (Think she was saying, 'I'm autistic, get me out of here')
