This summer the Government will report back to the UN on the progress that it has made on implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People. The Convention covers a wide range of areas including health, education, employment and standards of living.

This is a really important moment for disabiliy rights as individuals and organisations have the chance to submit "shadow reports" to tell the UN how they think the Government is doing.

The Learning Disability Coalition will be submitting a report based on the views and experiences of people with a learning disability. If you have a learning disability, or are the family member or carer of someone with a learning disability, please take a few minutes complete our survey and tell us what you think: www.surveymonkey.com/s/learningdisability (please note, the survey focuses on the rights of disabled adults, over 18 years old)

You can read the full Convention here: www.un.org/disabilities/convention/conventionfull.shtml

Or in easy-read here: odi.dwp.gov.uk/docs/wor/uncon/easy-read-un-convention.pdf

Thank you,

The Learning Disability Coalition

It's not that we don't care, but we've had a few of these types of things and generally people will do the ones that have been 'approved' by MN HQ
