Has anyone been on Easyjet with a child with ASD or similar?

What are their policies on people with disabilities? I know that BA are meant to be great - letting you board late, letting you sit somewhere in the aircraft with no tables in front of you, otherwise it is open/shut/open/shut... throughout the flight.

I would like to know whether Easyjet does anything similar. Has anyone had any experience of how they are on disabilities?

Good idea Madame Sin. I can't believe they make life so difficult for us. It's not as if I haven't warned them so. Done a social story for DS but just know that the smallest teeniest thing can trigger him off and that will be it...

Can't believe they told you you'd have to pay! Cheeky sods.

have you tried calling the airport directly?

Yes, was put on to three separate people who could only offer the advice of phoning Easyjet directly but had no special number for special assistance, just the call centre number

I was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 31 and I have used Easy Jet Special Assistance. I would say get it because when it works well it is good. My experience wasnt very good but I also complained after for staff to be taught the best things for them to do.

Looks like you've already have had some good advice and hopefully you'll hear back from them soon.

Just wanted to share that DD and I have flown with easyJet many times (to visit my family who live in Sweden) and gave found them excellent every single time. We always fly from Luton though so maybe it is partially due to the airport as well. On one occasion we had our hand luggage carried down for us by the pilot himself as I was carrying DD. The crew have always been patient and kind to us.

The first few times we flew with them we had to call the helpline to request SA but nowadays it is an option when booking the flight (a tick box under the passenger details box). The boarding pass the. Has SA on it a d we go straight to the SA area on arrival at airport.

Sorry to hear other people have had less good experiences. Our worst experience so far was with Scandinavian Airlines when landing at Heathrow. No help whatsoever!

We've never paid to sit together, when phoning the helpline they always seated us together right at the front of the plane.
