DS1 survived school trip!

After months of worrying DS1 did fantastically on his residential school trip. Ok so he stood and told me all about it looking in the other direction, but hey you can't have everything ;). He joined in all the activities - zip wire, canoeing, gorge walking etc. Apparently it wasn't even him keeping everybody else awake at night!! He ate the food - although one night it was yucky and he had to have salad instead.
Can't believe how relieved I feel now. He can't wait to go again next year :)

Grin Brilliant news.

moosemama · 08/04/2011 17:46

Fantastic - well done LittleMasterGreen. Grin

How did he get on with his socks? Wink

If he's anything like my ds, he'll still be tired a week from now. Mine actually fell asleep in his history lesson yesterday! Blush

Tiggles · 08/04/2011 17:50

Think I have done too well on the sock teaching, he was away 3 days, and appears to have gone through about 12 pairs
Tiredness appears to be hitting in. Finally stopped nattering about it and currently lying down watching Toy Story.

That's brilliant, LittleMissGreen! 12 pairs of socks, eh? So the opposite of moose junior? And they had fantastic weather, too. No sunburn, I hope?

I'm a bit worried about DS2's week long trip. It's the week before half term and I'd foolishly already booked a week in Turkey leaving very early Sat am. He'll get back Fri exhausted and have to get up 5.00am on Sat for a really long journey. Not looking forward to it, meltdowns expected.

That's great glad he enjoyed it!

EllenJane, we had similar last summer, ds2 on speech camp for 4 days, collected him from school and straight to the airport for our summer holiday - second morning I did a social story about the things we might be doing, etc - it really seemed to help - worth a try if your little one finds that type of thing reassuring! Have a lovely time in Turkey, lucky you!!

Sorry for hijack Littlemissgreen - but well done to your ds!

Ineedalife · 08/04/2011 18:44

Well done to your Ds, glad he had funSmile.

You can't beat a good zip wireGrin.

EllenJane1 · 08/04/2011 18:47

Thanks Helen. Forewarned is always forearmed for DS so I'll try that. we've been there before, so that should help.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 08/04/2011 19:11

I need you to come round here and teach my ds now. Grin

Goblinchild · 08/04/2011 19:54

Well done OP for having the courage to let him go. Having done it with mine, I know how incredibly hard it is to do. Next year mine will have a passport and face a field trip abroad...

EllenJane1 · 08/04/2011 20:02

My DS2 went for a Mon - Fri trip to the seaside, staying in a chalet, going on the beach, on a boat trip, with 12 others (some with severe LD, and 6 staff on 2 minibuses when he was.................... 4!

After that nothing bothers me!
