Hey - did I tell you that my 4 yr old is kinda starting to cruise?? :-)

She edged her way along the side of the bath the other week in a desperate need to get the plug and throw it in the bath.

Then and this is even better, we were at my MIL's and she was at the bath again (this is where she does her most confident standng and where it all started) she edged along the bath clutching MIL's toothbrush and I was sat on the loo,(seat down btw!) and inbetween me and the bath was the bidet, so I turned it on. Lottie let go of the bath with one hand, held onto the bidet and sort of manouvered herself to the bidet, all on her own!

Then yesterday she was standing watching daddy have a bath, and I was sat on the loo (seat down again!) and she got herself so she was standing at the sink!

Big steps for my nearly 4 yr old bum shuffler. Watching the struggle was a massive tug at the heart strings, so, so proud of her.

Maybe, just maybe she will walk by the time she starts school in Sept 2006? I do hope so, I'd hate to have to carry her in on her 1st day at school. I want to stand with the other mums and watch my little girl walk off into that school.

I had a dream that she was walking the other day. It was just a straightforward nothing dream but I realiseed after that lottie had been walking in it

Sounds great thomcat! Especially as it sounds as though she did it because she wanted/needed to move to somewhere different. Motivation is more than half the battle.(IMO) I really hope that this just the beginning - you might be surprised how quickly she progreeses now.

I love hearing about Lottie

that is fab TC - you know once she starts she won't stop ... I now have to chase dd1 a number of times during the day as she just loves to walk/run BUT being Miss Independent - refuses to hold hands.....

As to the plonking - dd1 did that for ages... just bam back on her bum. She now bends her knees and eases down.

I am sure she will walk into school

aloha · 31/10/2005 20:48

She is absolutely on her way! My ds wasn't excited about walking either (shares his mothers love of sports ) but once he was up, walking wasn't far off.

Congratulations to the little Lotster.

Brilliant news. I think the learning to sit down is actually another skill they have to master once they are up and moving. Most will just bang down but with my two it didn't seem to bother them. When DS started moving we used the TV remote as a tempter for him to reach for!

stick the mpeg on any free webspace thingy ? Mail it to me ?

LOL @ wet toys.

Tonight I thought I'd give dd some nappy-free time... after a pleasing number 2 (hers, not mine), I thought I'd be safe. Of course blankie, hub's T-shirt, hub's track suit and the sofa got covered in pish, LOL. It's funny, anyone else's I'd be all ewwwww... hers is just awwwwwwwww. Sorry, don't know why I'm posting this here, just all the talk of toilet seats etc.
