Has anyone been to Disneyland Paris? I am wondering about going in Early september before we go back to school and wondered if anyone knew anything about the special needs policy that they have.

My brother took my kids, one with SN. I don't know about the policy as such but I know there was a front row space at the parade! Is the policy not on their website? or can you contact customer services?

We are going in November and the travel agent lady was lovely and told us loads. She also called resort and told them about DS2.

It is as NS says above, take your DLA letter or blue badge if you have one.

AAlso, if flying, contact the airline and they should allow you to board first with your child.

I've been with DD with a physical disability a couple of years ago. If you go to city hall and explain your child's needs they will issue a card which you can show at rides and use to access the speacial wheelchair viewing area for parades etc. I took proof of DLA and a letter from her consultant.

The website disboards.com has a section for planning disneyland paris and should have useful up to date info.

The pass also gets you to see the characters quicker, just go to the exit of the rides and characters and show the pass.

they will give you a leaflet which tells you which rides you can fast-track, and how many people can accompany the child with sn for each of them (different for all, some can only fast-track sn + carer, most more) it's a bit random as you have to go in the 'out' to get to the front of the queue sometimes...

but yes, go to city hall with proof of disability (letter of dx etc) not blue badge, and they will sort you out.

dd2 had a fab time, but as there were so many of us there was quite a lot of waiting around for everyone else to get through the queues. an ordinary family unit shouldn't have too many problems though.

I went with DS (ASD) in Feb. I the kids are a big fan

the pass we had did fast track us for characters. Also when I phoned DLP to book the operator gave us a wheelchair accessible room (without me even asking) just because he thought we might appreciate the extra space.

Do you know where you are staying? are you staying onsite?

We went last September with DS, ASD, and had a wonderful time. Got the easy access pass at city hall, easy as pie, then we were able to get on every ride without any queuing. And all the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I was worried about dirty looks/ comments from other people (what with no visible disability) but we were whisked through so fast I don't think the people queuing had time to process what was happening Grin

We were able to sit in the best sections to watch the parades, although a couple of times we didn't take the places there as there were a lot of wheelchair users and I was too nervous kind of felt they should have priority.

Also, in the Disney shows, which were the main attraction for DS, we were able to sit in a cordoned off area with a prime view.

Couldn't have been better really
