Its only taken about 13 years of fighting for DS[16] saw disability nurse today and she says that for someone who's 'categorically not autistic' he has a hell of a lot of traits [we did see Dr in January and he started the ball rolling but things have escalated since then with violence against me] She's left a health questionnaire for me to fill in and is going to see him at college this afternoon and seeing a colleague about coming out to do a proper assessment. She was also asked by his dr to speak about risperidone for his lack of sleep we agreed to try it and Dr has been on the phone he's already faxed over an urgent prescription to surgery for me to pick up, he's to start on them tonight.Fingers crossed that it works.

We've known for years he has some form of Autism but the children's team didn't agree the reason they gave was that he interacted with his carers said it was ADHD the adult team can't do enough to help us.
We got the meds tonight and he fell asleep just after 11 hope its not a fluke though.

Oh, borderlass, sounds like the children's team didn't know anything about ASD! Interacting well with adults, but not with peers, is a classic sign of HF ASD. Perhaps you're now dealing with someone who's little better trained. What a nightmare. At least you're on the right track now. Keep on it, keep at them, though.
