hi anyone with an older ds who like mine loves snuggling up under a cover to hide under or his duvet on the sofa as he likes to shut the world out sometimes might find the snuggie for jml good i got mine in asda but a few places do them its like a blanket but with arm holes in so you can snuggle up under it and be using your hands its quite reasonable price, they do do a kids one too but i read they come up small but the adult ones huges DS was in heaven with it last night watching tv and on his DS a permanent grin bless they were £12

We have a knock off version of this (£6) for the living room, and a soft silky textured Mummy sleeping bag that DS adores for bedtime. He also likes his homemade rainbow fleece blanket I made for him one year for Xmas. (shop bought fleece blankets weren't soft enough for lil lord faunterlroylol!) All 3 seem to calm him down, and help him relax in the evenings.

I'm wondering about making him a snuggie from parachute silk for the summer months to see if it'll help when it's too hot for a snuggie? What do you think?

My Mum is currently knitting him a set of soft finger puppets at his request to play with instead of "fiddling". We'll see how sucessful it is, if it works he'll be taking them into class with him at his new school. I'm really pleased his new head has agreed to trial ear defenders in class when he starts in September as the last one wouldn't consider it. Amberlights comments on wrapping in a duvet really hit home, but the ear defenders are easier to carry on the tube etc!

have to say ear defenders do make lots of things more do-able in the sign household.. (getting on the bus, sitting at reasonably still for a few mins in church etc).
