Legoland is soon back open :-)
This weekend (26th and 27th March) it is open for ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS ONLY! (Legoland Annual Passes and Merlin Annual Passes).
It reopens to the general public from next Friday - 1st April.
N.B. Note for anyone disabled there are some changes this year:
- Disabled Blue Badge Holders now have to PAY for parking, unless you still have a valid 2010 annual pass.
- If you qualify for the Exit Pass Scheme: It has changed slightly and now has a Ride Access Pass (RAP) card for 6 of the major rides. It means the card is marked with the actual length of the main queue and you can't go on another major ride for that time. e.g. if queue length is 90 mins for a particular major ride you can't go on another major ride for 90 mins.
There is a downloadable disabled guide www.legoland.co.uk/Plan/Guests-With-Disabilities/
Note that Legoland is still keeping it's Exit Pass strategy of up to 3 carers/companions can go on a ride with the person with the Exit Pass :-) This means you can go on as a family. However Thorpe Park has slashed it to ONLY 1 carer and Alton Towers has slashed it to just 2 carers!!! That means if are disabled and use the exit pass schemes especially at Thorpe Park (and Alton Towers if more than 3 in your family) you can't go on rides as a family and will now have to be split up!
It looks like all the Merlin Theme parks e.g. Legoland, Chessington, Thorpe Park, ... now unfortunately have the Ride Access Pass (RAP) card for their major rides! Not very good if due to your disability you can't stay at a theme park for very long, it may mean that you may not be able to go on many major rides anymore if the rides are really busy.
