Wireless connectivity of dc's labtops to interactive whiteboards at secondary.

My ds. is regularly being withdrawn from class because he can't cope with glare from whiteboard. I have asked that his laptop be taken into every class-room, and connected to whiteboard as he did at primary wirelessly,
so he can view the lesson on his laptop. I have been told this would be too difficult to do and I don't understand why. Any suggestions?

it'll be to do with the techy set up at the school I'd think

if the teacher's using the computer though, he should be able to have a memory stick and copy iy over before they start I'd have thought, would only take seconds

if he could do it primary I can't see why he couldn't do that now, the set ups can't be that vastly different. Why are they not suggesting he sits next to the teachers laptop/monitor, that's what my dd3 does, although she's much younger? Do you have a QTVI that can advise? They're supposed to provide reasonable adjustment and aim for inclusion, doesn't sound like it's happening.

second the download from memory stick idea.

often school it rules do not allow external computers to be linked to the school network (viruses etc)

sometimes the learning support sept has laptops that can be signed out by students.

or - tinted glasses or scribe? does it matter where he sits in the room? we had one girl who needed to sit at the back...

does he have specific vi support in his statement? learning support should be able to come up with work-round. not difficult. i used to scribe for a few kids in this instance. from my pov it wasn't great as the kids became dissociated from the class, so i worked for learning support laptops and direct teacher downloads. much easier.

Set up of school ICT can be totally different, so they may not be spinning you a line.

But the other suggestions sound reasonable

(Otherwise demand they don't use whiteboard to teach his classes Grin )
