Am currently completing a DLA form for my DS who has AS. It states tick all the boxes that apply.

Should I tick "has a learning difficulty" as well as "has a mental health problem"? Gone blank as I don't want to get this wrong.

Please can someone advise, have been putting this off as the form is so horrid. Cheers.

i would tick both, as it states tick all that apply x

Thanks for the advice. Let's hope it's worth completing this form in the end.

I ticked both. I wasn't sure about the mental health one tho' cos there's nothing wrong with his mental health, it's a disorder? But tick both.

are you using the cerebra guide to help, would recommend you do?

herdiegirl · 17/03/2011 13:25

Yes, I have printed off the Cerebra guide and it is really useful. Still find it hard to put in how many times a day he needs help with certain things and how long for in minutes!

do you think it would help if you kept a diary for a few days and than came back to the forms with a bit more info?

Herdie- when completing for dd 3.8 ASD I found myself writing continuously rather than trying to put in into time.

SuffersFoolsGladly · 17/03/2011 14:16

You don't have to always put minutes. you can use words like 'consistently' and 'continually' and 'all the time'.

herdiegirl · 17/03/2011 14:43

Didn't realise you could write that in that space! DH and I were going through form last night and we both said that it's all the time, you can't put that in minutes Confused. Thanks, that really helps a lot.
