I just wanted to share how proud I am of my ds2 (4 yrs)- he has epilepsy and SLI and only has 6 words which people outside his family and therapists can understand. BUT today he was in the local corner shop and when I asked him what he wanted for a snack expecting him to sign his answer - then he came out with a perfectly understandable and clear APPLE! and repeated it when I asked him. So so chuffed with him - just want to shout it from the rooftops.

goes off to have another Wine to celebrate

Lovely boy. Not sweets either! I suppose that will be next. I can remember rewarding any speech with whatever DS had asked for. Took him ages to understand 'no.' Smile
