CDC being taken over by Integrated Childrens Services

Hi all the CDC we attend is currently run by the NHS so paeds can refer children there and advise if they want children to stay attending. However from 1 april it will be run by Integrated Childrens Services and I can invisage big changes happening as it will be more of a government run thing. Is this happening all over country or just locally? I get the feeling that a lot of cost cutting will occur and lots of kids will miss out along the line!

There is lots of changes and cost cutting in this area all over the country. My dh works in this field for a charity (about to be made redundant) and unfortunately a lot of the work he's been doing with young children and families is stopping Angry. Not sure how things will be affected yet - the whole thing is in turmoil from what I'm hearing!

Well my ds was never seen by cdc even for dx but i wld be unhappy if non medical/nursing people decided on referrals as both medics and nurses have strong professional rules and duties to patients.

The paed can still refer on but it will no longer be ultimately up to them if your child stays or not. For example my dd has mainly speech and social issues an sensory integration however because she is not physically disabled they are questioning if she still needs to go or not which to me is ridiculous as they are also doing the same to kids with downs an asd. Cost cutting if eve I saw it!
