Not telling my partner?

I had the oddest convo with my bf today he said someone called asking to speak to ds parents and when he said he was my partner she wouldnt tell him anything. In the end he told her to leave me a message on my mobile... It was only telling me ds has been referred to physio and asking when was the best time for an appt....

If they told my bf he would have it all sorted... But now I have to wait till Tuesday to call her... I just don't understand why she didn't tell him... I know he isn't ds dad but he is very involved, lives with us, attends all his appts, in fact some weeks he looks after him more then me due to me working all the time... It's prob some legal stuff but it seems a bit stupid.

Rant over lol

You are legally only supposed to deal with the person who has parental responsibility (legally) for the child, I.e. their parent. Seems harsh but it is the law, sadly.

It's data protection. You wouldn't want them spilling medical stuff to any old ramdom, would you? Therefore they can only tell someone authorised - you.

Probably only way round that would be to give specific professionals written permission for them to communicate info re ds to your bf in future.

thing is, they can't know that your partner is involved with your ds unless you have signed a paper saying so

for all they know he could be a one night stand

Mind you, if its on the phone how can they tell who anyone is apart from whether you're a man or a woman? It really annoys me when I try to sort out stuff about credit card or bill which just happens to be in DH's name and they won't speak to me. If I had a male friend round and passed the phone to him, giving him the relevant info, they'd tell him everything.

Davos - I have done this - getting DH to pretend he is DS (grown upish) as DS asks me to sort out financial problems for him! Funny when DH cant remember DSs birthdate though!!

OP Written (sometimes verbal) permission, noted down on their computer will do the trick.

Maybe... I understand why it's just a lot of red tape lol... I just told dp to say yes speaking when they ask to speak to his parents next time... Way easier...

The worst was when I called to say my bf had moved in so please stop my single person council tax discount. They said 'what's his previous address?' me 'oh I don't know it off hand... Do I need it?' them 'well if he leaves you won't be able to say your single again without a forwarding address' me oh that's not a problem I've known him since being 14' them 'but u don't know where he lives?' cheeky bugger!!!!! Me 'yes I do I can drive there but I have enough in my head so addresses seem to fall out. Thankyou goodbye.'

Grrrrrrrrrrr go away stupid woman on my phone!
